The Welcome Matt
Straight from the heart of the scintillating and sizzling San Francisco music scene, good friends KC Turner, Roem Baur and The Welcome Matt (Matt Langlois) show the strength, depth and diversity that has made SF music a nationwide phenomenon.
Roem Baur’s soul-drenched, four-octave-voiced, opera-trained, award-winning, horn-rimmed singer/songwriter-infused honk and shout defines a new SFO-Town brand of rhythm and blues. A pro at the peak of his powers, Roem, who usually performs with a horn-sectioned band, hits hard as a solo artist, and has a softer songwriter side as well.
The Welcome Matt (Matt Langlois) is a rocker with a poet’s lyrical heart; Indiemusic.com says, “Matt has found the secret to truly personable songwriting. Evoking the Beatles circa Rubber Soul with a little Ray Davies and a little Cake, he drifts somewhere between Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and Bob Dylan, mastering…expert lyrical spacing and rasping dreamy opinion.”
And KC Turner is the pure singer/songwriter, offering heartfelt songs with a touch of humor. He is probably better-known as San Francisco’s premier promoter of top-flight national and local musicians, at house concerts and at some of the most prominent venues in the Bay Area. John Craigie says “If you don't know the name KC Turner, you don't know the Bay Area music scene,” and Tom Freund says "KC Turner might be the next Bill Graham."
